Our old storms and screens all have mortise and tenon joints - something I'm having trouble reproducing with hand tools. How strong is the dowel connection? Any twisting or pulling apart? Thanks for the drawings!

I still have to make them. If you're worried about it coming apart I would use Gorilla Glue.
