Hello! I've still been working on this never ending project.....just took a bit of a break. Here's a gif of before (as it is now) and after (with use of photoshop) I hope to get someone to do the framing for the roof and entry for me. Can't wait for that to be done, so I have a nicer looking house!

That will look wonderful.

Did the roof originally extend across the entire front of the house? It's kind of different than the typical Foursquare with just the entry, since the vast majority of foursquares have a full-width front porch. Have you thought about putting a hip on the right side if you do a full-width roof? Maybe a bracket at that end too, to give it a supported look?

Thanks Jan!

There will likely be a corbel bracket holding up the roof at the right. Just didn't put it in....The house originally had a front porch (see site icon pic next to American Foursquare Restoration) but it would be way too expensive to replace with that. It was removed by p.o and replaced with a closet as you walk in. It's works pretty well for that given we don't have a large amount of closet space as it is.Thanks for your input Seth.

Ok, that makes sense. With an appropriately-detailed bracket and soffit on the new roof, it should look really nice, and even make it distinctive compared to the typical full porch.
