Finally installed our new arts & crafts roller shades from The Handwerk Shade Shop and I have no complaints. The detail shot shows how it is installed inside the track. Up until now, I had been installing my shades incorrectly with the shade rolling toward the inside of the window and not out. Hope that makes sense.

Hello Jim
The shades look perfect. Thank you for including The Handwerk Shade Shop on your blog, and in your home.
Kind Regards,
Linda Willis

Our house has the original roller shade brackets. They are cast and match the rest of the window hardware. Seeing them there is tempting me to get some roller shades. Thanks for the info on these.

When we moved in the windows were covered by big curtains which hid all of the woodwork. That's great that you still have the hardware.

Your shades look beautiful. I'm intrigued by the way you have mounted them inside the track - I thought this was a no-no? Do the shades hit (or rest on) the bottom sash frame when they are in the down position?
Thanks!

Mounting them on the inside track made a lot of sense to me once I did it. No problem with the window hitting the shade.
